The Escape Surf School prides itself on its teaching methods and their success rate proves it. We guarantee you will be standing and riding waves to the beach completely unaided after only one surf lesson.

This is achieved by our innovative teaching method for beginners which involves holding the tail of the board, whilst the surfer gets to their feet. This helps stabilise the board until the surfer is standing, then they release and you enjoy the amazing feeling of riding the surf!

Equipment is also an important factor when learning to surf. We want all our customers to be warm and comfortable which is why we use Realm and Cskins branded winter wetsuits all year round, as well as providing boots and gloves in the colder months.

All our beginner surfboards are 8 foot foam boards which provide the stability and flotation required when learning. As our students progress we move them onto “Semi slick” boards which have foam tops but silk (plastic) bottoms, which  still provide stability, but are faster and more responsive. We also have a stock of Santa Cruz epoxy boards in a range of sizes, which are available for our more experienced surfers.
