The Elite Surf Academy

The Escape Surf Academy is aimed at Intermediate and Advanced surfers, both recreational and Contest surfers, looking to improve their surfing technique. We offer a variety of courses from intensive 1/2 day sessions, through to weeklong courses.

Escape Surf School Elite Academy

The courses cover a variety of activities designed to improve surfing technique, speed and manoeuvrability, stance, flow, fitness & mental state and give an opportunity for surfers to understand their surfing strengths and weaknesses.

Each session will be tailored to the clients’ current level & skill and will aim to improve competence, confidence, technique and fitness. Video analysis sessions will be used to allow the client to understand and visualise their surfing technique, and concentrate on weaker areas.

The programme aimed at professional & contest surfers will also include intensive contest strategy workshops, to improve performance and results.

We have a large selection of boards, provided by Newquay surf shop, Surfers Paradise, to give surfers an opportunity to try different equipment suited to their level and the surf conditions.

All sessions will be coached by the Escape Academy owner Mike Young. Mike is a BSA level 4 coach and has coached at various levels for over 10 years.
